High School of Art and Design Draw-A-Thon
By Waldo Cabrera and Pavan Carter
In order to connect with middle school creative students, the High School of Art and Design in midtown Manhattan created an 8-hour drawing event that has turned into a must-attend event. Dozens of models are stationed throughout the school dressed in elaborate costumes.
In NYC, middle school students can go to any specialized high school anywhere in the five boroughs. There are dozens of options for the 8th graders to choose from. So the Draw-A-thon allows the students to experience what their high school career will belike as they draw all day in the company of 300 other artists.
Simply put, this is event is pure heaven for any pre-teen that loves to draw.
